Love this place. First time back after months of quarantine. Never gotten anything to eat there that wasn't delicious. Can't wait until next time.

Large pork plate $12 - delicious and generous portion of chopped pork, Brunswick stew and slaw. Side order of hush puppies very good. My sister got the beef brisket plate $12..very good/generous portion, but came sliced..she would request chopped next time. My husband got the fried butterfly shrimp and catfish filet plate.. generous portion and good flavor. The service was a little slower than usual due to the very busy requests for takeout orders as Labor Day weekend and first weekend for college football.. but we still had very good service.. all the staff are very good about helping each other out. Look forward to eating here again very soon.

I was visiting a friend in the area and she took us here for lunch everything was excellent and all the greeters and servers were so friendly.I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

It's standard fare for the area. My boyfriend's family has a sentimental attachment to it, so I went along. They all had catfish which I imagine if you like catfish was quite good. They all enjoyed it. I had a pork plate and I was less pleased with my food. The stew is blended into a slurry. I'm used to a chunkier version with recognizable meat and veggies. The pork was a little dry and the sauce didn't really impress. It was just okay overall and prices are kinda high for the quality of the food.

Always the best BBQ. Be sure to order ahead because they are BUSY now that they're open again.

This was my first time here and I have to say it was fantastic!!! You definitely get your money's worth and everyone was very nice. Looking forward to going back!

Very solid BBQ. Staff was extremely friendly. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the parking lot was packed so we anticipated a wait. The two of us got sat right away so it was just the larger parties. The slaw wasn't to my taste but I'm certain others would love it. All in all, we'll be back.

The place looks deceptively small from the outside but feeds a lot of people. The catfiish was just right, and I brought a pound of brisket with spicy vinegar sauce to go. Service was great too.

If you want great bbq and/or seafood then this is your place!! The "on the bone" catfish are the perfect "frying size" as described by our waitress and they are absolutely delicious!!! BBQ, chicken and ribs are beyond phenomenal and the sides are homemade!!It truly is like you've been welcomed to their family fish fry and BBQ!!

Because of Covid19 we chose take out tonight instead of dinning in. Our food choice tasted amazing as always and we had the best service ever.

Great food and friendly staff. Anna was our waitress, she was extremely helpful and fast at her job. I had popcorn shrimp, slaw, and fries all exceptional tasting, and just cooked kinda hot. Many thanks to Gumlog and Anna for a delicious and friendly dining experience.

Best part was incredibly friendly and attentive waitress and staff! TVs had College football games on, enjoyed that too. If you like your Brunswick stew puréed then you’re gonna love it here. Food was ok. Fun atmosphere!

Catfish filets are the way to go here! Excellent. The tarter sauce, hushpuppies and slaw are all great. I personally don’t love the BBQ but that’s just me. The other fish options and shrimp are very good but it’s 5 stars hands down for the catfish alone. It gets very crowded so be prepared and don’t hold that against them since that’s a result of great food.

An absolute fabulous fish house and BBQ in the tradition of Southern fish houses and BBQ! This is a place full of local history and many local residents. Gumlog is a local favorite, so if the locals love it, so will you! Their BBQ is wonderful and the catfish is classic whole fried catfish. The plates come with slaw, hush puppies and fries. The hush puppies are light and hard to tell they have been fried! Where most fish houses are quite greasy, Gumlog has hardy any grease taste. Don't turn down the opportunity to give Gumlog a try...you'll be back!!

Serves BBQ, fried seafood, and hush puppies...what more could you want? The breading on the fried flounder and butterflied shrimp is wonderful. Not greasy but crisp. I don't even care for hush puppies, but I tried them; the outside was crisp and the inside softer and slightly sweet. The waitress was very efficient and quickly brought anything extra we needed. This is a restaurant with a strong community presence, and I can see why!

I don’t get the hype over this place. Don’t get me wrong, the people are wonderful. They’re so sweet and accommodating. The place is always packed. The atmosphere is nice. It’s clean. Easy parking. Fast service. But, the food is just mediocre. We eat here a lot during the summer. Our lake house is just a few minutes from here, so it’s convenient. But, I have never really loved anything I’ve ever eaten. Not bad. Just nothing to write home about.

Our family likes having the choice between fish & BBQ. The quality of the fish seems to be a grade above the average. Service has always been very good.

We stop by here on the way to visit my parents . It's off the beaten path for sure. It takes about 15-20 mins from the interstate. It's a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. The plates are huge you could easily share with both leaving very full. We have had the fish to the ribs . They welcome everyone here and the parking lot stays full but we have never waited. The food is very fresh and it's worth the drive. Stop and try it we love it find places like this!

I was so disappointed i drove there for dinner with my mom the tilapia was dry and hard she wouldn't even eat it. The bake beans tasted like they didn't have any brown sugar left in the back. I still don't know why we got shrimp sauce when you see on our plates we don't have any. These dinner are not cheap!!! To spend almost 50.00 to throw away I'm so heart broken.. I hope someone will reach out to us about this horrible experience....

Great place to eat they don't only serve bar b que they serve fried whole catfish and some tasty tender rib eyes as well

Excellent fried catfish! Tried the brunswick stew which had all the flavors of a brunswick stew but no texture...as if it had been pureed. Definitely will go back.

We try to eat here every time we go to North East Georgia. The service is good. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd think it would be in a bbq and fish house. And the food -- fantastic and authentically southern. Be aware that the catfish is cooked in cornmeal, so if you're expecting more traditional batter... well, that's not what they serve. It's all good, though. Don't let a long line worry you -- they move people in quickly.

Brisket was amazing and the brisket sauce had a nice kick to it. Pork was very good too. Portions are adequate but not the normal heaping plate like many BBQ places serve.

Great food and friendly attentive staff! Unfortunately a VERY NOISY after church group ruined our lunch and I think everyone elses in the restaurant! My son has Autism and they were so loud he became upset! We choose to box up our food and leave before he was in tears from the EXCESSIVE NOISE! We were not the only people disturbed by this VERY RUDE "after church group!" My husband and I could not hear each othe sitting across the table!

Placed a to-go order tonight and was told our order was simple and would be ready in 25 minutes. Stood outside waiting for our food for more than an hour. One hour and twenty minutes after the order was placed, they told me they no longer had any brisket and we had to start over again.

My colleague found this hidden gem while we were traveling through the area. The beef brisket and pecan pie was excellent and at very reasonable prices. There were 8 of us and we all walked out loving this restaurant.

The food is delicious. I love the catfish fillets, best I've ever had. Their tarter sauce is the best, I could eat the hush puppies alone as a meal. The slaw is perfect. I tell everyone that Gumlog is my FAVORITE!! Place for a catfish plate. I bought 2 plates tonight. And they're both for me. One for tonight, the other one is for tomorrow. Love it. It's my treat for me, after a long week of work.

Everything was perfect. Very fresh food, generous sized proportions, excellent service. Will be back many more times.

Unfortunately, after coming here for 20 plus year, I had to walk out of the restaurant. We were seated , and drinks came fast. 1 hour later we still had no food but all the tables who came after us were all eating. We only ordered four meals(nothing fancy) but fish and BBQ. The waitress pretty much ignored us. I had to flag her down to find out what the delay was at the 45-minute mark. At the 1 hour mark, I asked a different server what the hold up was. She went back and found our ticket and supposedly moved it up in the ticket line. We asked for the ticket for out drinks, but was told we were good. We opted to leave. We could have order a to go order faster than this. Hopefully, this is not a new normal for Gumlog BBQ.

My cousin, his wife & mother & myself ate there Sunday night and the Seafood was outstanding. It reminded me of my parents restaurant "Burnham's Seafood Restaurant" in Freeport, Fl the hospitality, food and all. Really enjoyed it and I will be back when I'm bk up that way 👍👍

Great food but for the price I would have liked to not wait 2 hours for call in food I understand because of the circumstances why but may need to let people know how long the wait maybe

It was okay today. It's been a while since we ate here. I used to get their salt & pepper catfish...but that's not served anymore.

Large variety of food from Seafood to steaks and hamburgers. Very good food and very reasonable price. They do not advertise its Word of Mouth only. We go there every weekend love love love it

Great little place! We came in today around three with a fairly large group. The joint was pretty busy, but we were immediately taken care of. The wait staff was very courteous and the restaurant was clean. The food was really good all the way around the table, from the fried fish to the brisket. If I just HAD to pick one gripe it’d be that they don’t have a soda fountain, all are served from 20oz bottles. That’s not a deal breaker since you should be drinking sweet tea with bbq anyway—and theirs was great.

Food had no seasoning to it! The best thing I has was the butterfly shrimp. The hush puppies even fell apart at the slightest touch (no flour in the mix)

Such a good deal! Huge portions for an affordable price. They have a pick " 6" plate.. you can pick 6 different type of fish and seafood.. for $16!! Kid's plates only $3 The servers are super friendly!

Brisket was mediocre at best. Sauce to dip in left me lacking for better. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was clean an beautiful. Maybe i should have tried xonething other an i would go back to give a second chance. Just my nature to try a second time.
